I was having a conversation with my parents on this issue last Saturday after my mother got a sms asking here to read page 7 of the Sun newspaper. I told them that Anil would be the right person to lead those who are getting fed up with the churches turning commercial. I was right. I'm an Assumption old boy... What is left of the great Assumption School is just a tombstone in Butterworth's Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church's compound. The land was sold together with the surrounding areas which were occupied by Kampung Serani residents to developers who built condominiums and cargo storage lots. I call this school great because it was one of the poorest schools that I knew. In the 80's Government aid was limited because the school belongs to the church. I don't remember the church helping us then. People used to say that Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Mak Mandin was in dire need of aid and I remember collecting things like excess books, broken table and chairs from them so that our gardeners can repair them for us to use in our classes. Despite all that, this great school was able to produce top notch performance both in sports and academics. Thanks to some old boys who used to help us by donating some basic needs every now and then.
Currently Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Assumption is temporarily occupying a portion of Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Sungai Nyior's building.
It's so sad.......
I've been keeping this in my heart for a long time....

Independant Malaysia
Have we really achieved independance?
In what sense?
If it is just the country that achieved independance but not its people.... Is that considered an independant nation?
Were there only one father of independance? Or were there many Fathers and Mothers of Independance? If there were who are they? Why weren't the people aware?

Arabian deals within Bolehland.......
With our current economic situation, we can hardly wait for the Arabs to come in and fill up our Hotels. Some income generation to hold on the tourism industry during the bad times. Other than the Arabian holiday season we don't see much of them around except for Bukit Bintang.
The streets at Bukit Bintang has been turned into mini arab. They don't seem to look like tourist, some claim to be students but if monitored closely it'll show that a lot of business dealings are done while smoking the seisha. What business?? Not sure. Definitely something is going on. Don't the Police ever notice anything while strolling...
For all you know, it might be between a travel agent and a traveller??? We won't know. Some might be property buyers. Since they bought into Iskandar Corridor, Arab city in Melacca, Luxury resorts and Bungalow lots in Langkawi and luxury homes in KL and surroundings. Our valuable properties will look cheap to them with their buying power.
Just worried that as in the early eighties where our government successfully turned Ipoh from famous for its tin mining to becoming famous for its “Taugeh Chicken” by totally upsetting the world tin market, our famous Bolehland might be turned into a famous Arabland.... as they start taking over our property, hospitality and maybe our pharmaceuticals market.
Pharmaceuticals market????? Where got?
